Moon Cactus

The bright bulb on a Moon Cactus has its wonderful color because it lacks chlorophyll. Since it can’t produce its own energy, the Moon Cactus has to be grafted on another plant in order to survive. This cactus is easy to care for and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try re-grafting the bright bulb on a new host.

Plant Size

Extra Small: 2.5 inch standard nursery pot.

Light

Prefers direct bright light but also needs partial shade.

Water

Water every 2 – 3 weeks by soaking the soil completely then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again (the ‘soak & dry’ method).

Plant Specific Care

In the winter, protect from cold temperatures and reduce watering. Fertilize once or twice during the growing season and plant in soil that drains well. Be sure to choose a pot that isn’t glazed.

Pet-Friendly Plant

No.
