Olive Tree

The Olive Tree was regarded by the Ancient Greeks as a traditional symbol of harmony, wisdom, and triumph. Native to the Mediterranean, the Olive Tree is a slow-growing evergreen that features gray-green leaves and fragrant creamy-white flowers. She’s simple, yet so pretty! Plant Size Small: 4 inch standard nursery pot. Medium: 6 inch standard nursery pot. Light She is considered a high-light plant, which means that she needs at least 6 hours of direct, bright light a day. The brightest spot in your home is the best place to put her.  Water Water when the top two inches of soil are dry, which could mean every five days in the summer and every ten days in the winter. Plant Specific Care Olive trees like soil that drains easily, like a cactus mix. Placing an inch or two of styrofoam, gravel, or any other kind of filler on the bottom of the pot will keep the soil well-drained. (And of course, make sure your container has plenty of drainage holes.) Although olive trees grow quite slowly, you want to make sure that the container is at least several inches larger than the root ball on each side to allow the roots room to expand. Planting in a larger container will mean you’ll have to re-pot your tree less often. Pet-Friendly Plant Yes.
