The Pineapple plant has long sword-like leaves growing in a spiral around a central stem, with only one flower stalk. Once i the finishes flowering, in another month or so, its blooms fuse together to form a single pineapple fruit topped with a tuft of leaves called the crown. That fruit will need another 5 to 7 months to ripen.
