String of Tears

String of Tears or Curio Herreanus was historically known as Senecio Herreianus. This plant is also commonly named String of Beads after its creeping stems and interesting spherical, pea-like foliage with tiny, slightly pointed tips.String of Tears is a super laid-back plant – they like lots of sun and not much water, but don’t leave them completely dry for long periods.

Plant Size Guide

Extra Small: 2 – 2.5 inch standard nursery pot

Small: 3.5 – 4 inch standard nursery pot. 

Medium: 5 -6 inch standard nursery pot.

Large: 7 – 8 inch standard nursery pot.

Light

5 – 6 hours of indirect, bright light. Can handle short-term direct light but be cautious of the plant burning.

Water

Usually every 2 – 3 weeks once the soil has fully dried out. Use the ‘soak & dry’ method – completely soak the soil and water again only once the soil is fully dried out.

Plant Specific Care

Very sensitive to over watering. Use soil and a pot that drains well.
