Venus Flytrap

Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a carnivorous flowering plant. Known for eating insects that pass it by, it stands out with its jaws. The species gets its name from Venus, the Roman love goddess. Weird right? But the plant actually has sweet-scented nectar that attracts its prey.

Plant Size

Small: 3.5 inch standard nursery pot.

Light

Full sun.

Water

Water every 10 to 14 days. The soil should always remain moist and use specifically rainwater or distilled water to see them thrive.

Plant Specific Care

Spray your plant with soft water and clean the dust on the leaves once every two weeks. It is normal that some leaves darken. This simply means they are renewing themselves. However, if the whole plant darkens, it’s because its roots received too much moisture. This could be a sign of your plant dying.

Pet-Friendly Plant

No.
